Vidalia Pulled Pork Sandwiches Recipe

A very delish pork sandwich made in a non-traditional way, using Vidalia Onion Dressing instead of BBQ sauce.

ingredients

  • 1 (3 pound) boneless pork shoulder roast, cut into 4 sections, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 12 ounces root beer
  • 6 large Kaiser rolls

directions

  1. Place pork in a 6-quart or larger multi-cooker. Add root beer and Vidalia Onion Dressing.
  2. Set multi-cooker to Pressure Cooker on HIGH for 60 minutes. When done, allow a 10 minute natural release, then continue with a quick release of pressure.
  3. Shred meat and toss with cooking liquid. Serve meat in Kaiser rolls.

Makes 6 servings.

Serve with waffle fries and coleslaw.

Make Ahead & Freeze: Place step 1 ingredients in a gallon freezer bag. Seal well, label and freeze. Thaw completely. Continue with step 1.

Slow Cooker Option: Following directions above, assemble step 1 in a 3-quart or larger slow cooker. Cook on HIGH 5-6 hours or LOW 8-10 hours. Continue with step 2.

Made cole slaw too with just the Vidalia Onion Dressing (cabbage, carrot and green pepper). Served with potato wedges and Malt Vinegar French Fry Seasoning. Already ordering another bottle to make this again!

The best part is the flavor of the pork is great by itself, or it compliments with many different sauces to please every palate! I had hoped for leftovers, but the boys ate it all! They have already asked me when are you making it again?
