Bacon Skewers with Caramel and Ganache Recipe
What goes good with chocolate and caramel? Bacon, of course!
- 10-12 wooden skewers
- 1 lb. (10-12 slices) thick-sliced bacon
- 3 Tbsp. heavy cream
- ⅓ cup milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 425°. Line a baking sheet with foil; place a wire rack on top. Soak skewers for 10 minutes in cold water. Thread a strip of bacon onto each skewer; place on rack. Cook bacon 10 minutes. Turn over; cook until crisp, 10-15 more minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined baking sheet. Microwave the Creamy Caramel Sauce until warm; spoon over one side of each bacon skewer. Chill until caramel is set. Pour cream in small bowl; microwave until hot, about 20 seconds. Place chocolate chips in a small bowl; pour hot cream over the top, stir until smooth. Microwave a few more seconds if not smooth. Drizzle ganache over caramel topped bacon skewers. Chill bacon until ganache is set. TIP: To create pockets where the caramel and ganache can pool, thread the strips onto skewers accordion style. Wait until caramel cools before topping with ganache to avoid dripping.
