Sangria Punch

I know I've said this before, but I LOVE SUMMER, especially in Minnesota! I don't know if I appreciate it so much because of how beautiful it is or if it's because of our semi-brutal winters. I love everything that summer brings: swimming, fishing, bonfires and camping. It's also that time of year when many different fruits are in season. Fruits like strawberries and peaches are so delicious, readily available and fairly inexpensive.

In preparation for some upcoming family events, I quickly whipped together a beautiful adult punch using Tastefully Simple's Samba Sangria Slush Drink Mix, wine and fresh fruit. It looks like something that took a ton of effort - it looks that good - but the truth is, you can impress your friends and family with just minutes in the kitchen. And the best part? It made so much that I had some leftovers. My hubby and I put the kids to bed, sat out on the deck with a glass of Sangria Punch and enjoy the end of a beautiful summer day. It doesn't get any better than that!

Enjoy the flavors of summer!

Tips and Hints

  • You can use your favorite white wine; sweeter wine will make sweeter sangria punch.
  • If you prefer red wines, you can use those, too! The Sangria will have a much richer, dark look to it.
  • I used unflavored mineral water. If you'd like added sweetness, grab a peach- or strawberry-flavored water. Yum!
  • Try different fruits. If you like sweeter verses sour, stick to berries, peaches and plums. If you'd like a little kick, throw in lemons and limes. You can really add anything you'd like. It'll be delicious no matter what.
  • Garnish your glasses with sliced citrus fruit, a peach slice or even a strawberry. Just cut a small slice so it will fit over the lip of the glass.
  • Try rimming your glasses with a little sugar. It'll look great!
