My business helped me meet my music idols

I’ve been a Tastefully Simple fan since a consultant friend asked me to host a party about 15 years ago. I loved everything I tasted and was happy to stock up my pantry with great products. Five years ago another friend, also a consultant, alerted me to a great join offer. Funnily enough, I didn’t even realize I was starting my own business at the time; I just thought I was getting a good deal on my favorite products. When my sponsor offered to help me get started, I decided I would work it as a business. These products fit perfectly into my life. I love food, cooking and entertaining. Now I can share that love with others and make money at the same time! Win-Win!

I work my business primarily through social media. I use our great new social sharing tool to plan and implement my goals. I also love doing events. I set up a massive display that I tailor to the season, and have tons of cash and carry.

I love these products, so it is easy to be passionate about selling them. My motivation has changed over the years – first it was simply to get delicious, high-quality products at a discount. When I really started focusing on larger goals, it became for “fun” money. When my all-time “bucket list” band went on tour, I really wanted to see and meet them. I took the income I had saved up and used it to buy two tickets to Aerosmith, stage seating and VIP meet-and-greets prior to the show! Without my Tastefully Simple income, I would not have been able to do that.

These days, my motivator is CASH. When my husband was injured last year, I was let go from my part time job while he was in the hospital. As we returned to our new “normal” several weeks later, I missed the income for our monthly expenses. Instead of looking for another job, I decided to double my efforts with Tastefully Simple to make up for the loss of income from my other career.

Tastefully Simple truly is a family affair. My boys love cooking with our products just as much as I do. It has let them experiment in the kitchen and try new flavors. When we did the 14-Day Reset as a family, they tried some meals they wouldn’t have otherwise, and for the most part loved them! We also always have a full pantry of food. Yes, it has been work for them, as they are usually the ones emptying boxes, putting my labels on everything, helping at expos and delivering orders, but in this family we all work together. They have seen the benefits of the extra income it has provided us as well. We have been able to take small trips, buy new things for around the house and have fun!

Another benefit of my business is having time and flexibility to devote time to causes important to me, like the Humane Society, Relay For Life, Dollars for Scholars and other local organizations. I love helping out in all aspects and am often asked for help in planning and implementing local benefits and fundraisers. It is a labor of love for sure, as I think the number of silent auction baskets I have helped prep is in the thousands at this point!

I’d recommend anyone try the Tastefully Simple business opportunity. After all, everyone eats! Besides that, it is an amazing feeling to be employed by a woman-owned company whose leader empowers her team and consultants to be better – not just in sales, but in life.
