August 1st rolled around this year, and all of a sudden my Pinterest feed started showing me how to style my fall entryway and new fall-inspired recipes. I have to admit, I’m that person that gets excited for all the pumpkin lattes to be announced by coffee shops and that cool crisp air that breezes and smells like … pumpkin season. I can’t help but feel all cozy.
While I’m ready for my pumpkin spice latte, the coffee shops where I live are not yet − so I’ll appease my pumpkin craving with some Pumpkin Bread & Maple Glaze Mix. The fun part about this mix is the glaze packet. You can make as a glaze or use it in frosting or cream cheese to give it a sweet maple flavor. I’ll show you how!
Stir up the bread mix batter according to the directions on the package and put half the batter in the bottom of a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Then, using a whisk or electric blender, mix the Packet 2 (glaze mix) with a block of cream cheese and a teaspoon of vanilla. Spoon this mixture into a baggie, then cut a corner and pipe it onto the top of the pumpkin bread batter in the pan.
Top with remaining pumpkin batter and bake at 375°F for 55-60 minutes (or until your toothpick comes out clean). Note: I ended up putting a little foil on the top for the last few minutes to make sure it didn’t get too golden on top.
Here's another idea: use the glaze for syrup … over pumpkin pancakes! Use the Pumpkin Bread Mix to whip up some Perfectly Pumpkin Pancakes.
