I’m not big into Christmas baking, but I do love sweets. And it seems like this time of year I always need treats for last-minute guests or a cookie exchange or a potluck or something, so I better make something. Luckily, these cookies are super easy to make, and the little dollop of fruit spread makes them extra pretty. One more thing checked off the list!

Absolutely Almond Trifle
Ingredients
- ¾ cup (1½ sticks) melted butter
- 1 cup water
- 3.4 oz. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
- 1½ cups milk
- 8 oz. thawed non-dairy whipped topping
- 2 cups hulled and sliced fresh strawberries
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- Plus more berries for garnish
Directions
Prepare Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix™ as directed on package with butter and water. Cool completely; cube. Combine pudding and milk, whisk 2 minutes; fold in whipped topping. Make layers of cake cubes, pudding mixture, sliced strawberries and blueberries in a clear glass bowl. Cover; chill 1 hour. Garnish with additional berries. Makes 10-12 servings.
Tips and Hints
- Make individual trifles by layering the small ingredients in small wine glasses or pedestal dessert bowls.
- Use any fruit combination – pineapple, raspberries, etc. are delicious in this dessert. Or used canned pie filling for a fruit layer.
- Use lemon or chocolate pudding in place of the vanilla pudding.
